Murphy (just turned 1) is my friend, and your friend, and the friend of everyone on the train.
BART is, technically, closed to dogs. A rule that is sometimes gently nudged aside by an adorable coldwetnose.
I love the blurry ears. You can almost hear them wiggling.
Everybody looks at a corgi. Just… everybody.
Had (minor) surgery today. Went well. Feeling crappy, but that’s sort of to be expected. Shouldn’t last long, either.
I didn’t have time to get this pup’s name, since his dad was in a big hurry. I did have time to take fifty-odd pictures, almost none of which came out non-blurry. And one of those few just HAD to be this one:
When I *started* taking this picture, he was sniffing.
Someone was rather nervous about me at first.
I need you to look closely at those eyes. That’s not because of the camera or anything like that. They actually look like that. Click on the picture, look at them even closer. They are AMAZING.

Not only pretty… these smelled very, very strongly… almost dizzyingly.

Trivia question from the woman who runs Classroom Safari: “Servals do not eat sloths. Do you know why?” And the answer: “Because they would have to be really good swimmers to get from Africa to South America.”
According to her, this serval is pretty much unique among the species.
Not only did he do this to her, he also just randomly wandered up to a few people he didn’t know and rubbed against them as well.
I was not among those happy few. Maybe next time.
Just a cute little puppy with thirty pounds of happy in a twenty pound body. Mom didn’t know what breed she was, but I am guessing there’s some Australian kelpie in there somewhere.

The bestest of girls.
I’ve heard legends of this dog! It is said that she is an awesome Aussie, aged 3.
Those sad eyes get me every time.
She was a very, very good girl, all the way there.
So I ran into Sofie and her dad, and I thought her name sounded familiar. And it turns out that yes, I ran into her before… back in 2010! She’s still around and kicking, at age 13. And distributing happy smooches to passers-by.
I also found out I got her name wrong last time. It’s ‘Sofie’ and not ‘Sophie’. Fixed now.
She’s all smiles.
Last Milwaukee post. This poor pup was getting a little more attention than he could really handle at six months. He was being very good, but he was preeeetty pooped by this time.
Very obedient dog. Well trained even at this age.
Then again, unless they’re actually running and grinning they always look sad and pooped.
Mom was not the only one receiving puppy smooches, by the way. *ahem*
On Saturday, Autumn and I went to a Sloth festival. I was somewhat hesitant to advertise it on here, because I wasn’t actually sure there would be anything interesting going on there. They were advertising sloth-based art and ‘sound healing’ and some kind of magic healing massage that doesn’t involve people touching you at all, which, well, that’s not my kind of thing.
But it turns out, well, they had a sloth. Among other beasties. And I had my nose licked by it.
Anyone up for slothfest 2018?
