I saw Stevie (3 years old) while I was wandering around Hayes Valley, and I did a total double-take. I have never seen eyes like hers. I can believe that she’s a catahoula mix, but still… what an intense look.
She was totally exhausted from playing, and was quite happy to just sit there for as long as I wanted to take pictures.
Look at those eyes. Not just bichromatic, but the same way on both sides. And SO PRETTY.
Six pictures of Wheezy! Wheezy is the other half of the dog-and-cat comedy duo, along with Lucy from Friday. He is is a ultra-sweet kitty who really just wants a little love, a few belly rubs, a little petting, and a lot of playing with a big peacock feather.

He was a very easy-going cat. Took the attention when I gave it, and wandered off and curled up when I didn’t. (Despite the implications of my hovertext.)

He really likes me! (Of course, he likes everybody. But still.)
So last weekend I dog-and-cat-sat for an adorable pair. This is one half of the two: an adorable basenji Australian kelpie mix named Lucy.
She was so super-cute, all waving at me.
Even if she did steal an entire bag of treats before I got there and eat them, and then spend most of the day with a tummy-ache.
I took her out for a walk. She took me straight to where her dad works, probably in the hopes he could make her feel better. When she couldn’t get in, she tried to take me to where her mom works.
Her nose was warm and dry for a while. I think it was just the tummy troubles.
Don’t worry, I didn’t leave the blanket on for long.
I think we’re getting close to the end of my good CorgiCon corgi pictures. And after all, I don’t want to turn my blog into ‘the corgis (and occasionally other dogs) of San Francisco’, so that’s probably all to the good. But there weren’t just corgis on that beach that day.
I think CorgiCon might have had a minimum goofiness entrance requirement.
There are few things as graceful as a corgi in the water. (Incidentally, if you’re seeing this on Facebook, it’s well worth clicking through to see the other pictures.)
It still looks impressive, even when you know the water’s only a few inches deep.
Well… some times more than other times.
Magnificent.
This could actually be a full corgi, albeit an unusual one. The thing that makes me think it’s a mix is the stare.
Dangerously adorable. Dangerously intelligent. A frightening combination.
So I dog-and-cat-sat today, for a totally adorable pair of rambunctious animals named Lucy and Wheezy. I’m afraid you’re going to have to wait a little while for pictures of the two, for terribly technical reasons (aka ‘I am too lazy to download, categorize, and edit the pictures from my phone tonight’) but you’ll see them soon. In the mean time, here is an adorable kitten I ran into at the SPCA on my last visit.
She watched me through the window for a while, but when it became obvious I couldn’t pet her or play with her…
…she just put her head down and went straight to sleep.

They were having a BLAST. Pretty sure they were family.
