Dog of the Day: Macy the Australian Shepherd Mix Window Puppy

I’m really not sure about anything about this one, except for the fact that it is utterly ridiculous.

Edit: This pup’s adoptive family have showed up in the comments (and in an email to me). It sounds like she’s found a happy home, and has been named Macy in honor of her former position. Too cute!

Yup, Macy’s window again, this one just a few days before Christmas.

Is there anything about this dog that ISN’T cute?

He was people-watching. He didn’t get up or do anything except stare out the window with a look of complete absorption. At least, until…

Oh geez I didn’t notice until just now… how perfect is this for a Christmas adoption? He’s got a SNOWMAN on his back.

At this point an ambulance went by and he started howling along with it. Too cute.

Dog of the Day: Ellie the Maremma Sheepdog

Say hello to Ellie! Ellie is owned by the owners of the amazing San Francisco restaurant ‘Flour and Water’. She’s lovely, and quite svelte… if I was in any way associated with that place I would, let’s say, definitely not stay svelte.

I think this is our first Maremma sheepdog, too. They’re lovely.

Dog of the Day: Blue Merle Collie

Collies are already gorgeous. Blue merle collies might be unfairly so.

Double Dog Day: Yorkie Yorkie Surprise

They’re catching up on their Zs, so they can run around licking everyone in sight with extra energy later.

Another picture brought to you by the front window of The Groom Room.

They were only intermittently asleep. Not sure how they knew I was looking at them, through a window, but know they did.

Dog of the Day: Gordon Setter

UGH. No, this isn’t directed at the dog, it’s directed at myself. I’m most of the way finished setting up my dog blog, but I can’t quite get ALL the way finished yet, and in the process I have managed to make it so that I, from my own laptop, am the only person in the world who CAN’T get to the OLD web site! Bonehead move.

Hence the no-posts-over-the-weekend, and the rather short post today. I’ll see if I can post something from work tomorrow. In the mean time, here is a Gordon setter who is about to get a very well-deserved haircut.

Those ears are magnificent. But can you imagine having to brush this dog?

Dog of the Day: Macy’s Window Puppy

Just had to post this dog today. He bears a striking resemblance to Watson, and he also has the puppydog eyes thing down pat to a degree rarely seen on this blog before.

Brown Chihuahua Mix In A Window

I know it’s a lot of work, but I feel like if the Macy’s window display lasted all year instead of just Christmastime, they would adopt out SO MANY PUPPIES AND KITTENS.

Okay, now tell me that isn’t the champion of puppydog eyes.

This is the ‘look over to check to see if they’re working’ expression.

I am not at all sure what this expression is, but it reminds me of some of Watson’s expressions.

Not sure what this one is, either. But that sure is a cute dog.

PSA: Beautiful Sweet Happy Puppy Needs a Home!

A PSA for tonight: the dog I posted on January 5th has not been claimed. She is super-sweet and wonderful and I would totally take her myself if I could. However, the woman who found her wandering around Nob Hill can’t keep her either. She needs a home!

More details in the graphic below. If you know anyone who might be interested, they can visit http://www.facebook.com/SaraFosterPuppy today, or contact SF Animal Care and Control after that.

Found Dog Poster

Look at that face. Go to the facebook page and check out the other pictures. I’ve met this gal twice now, and trust me, she is something special.

Dog of the Day: Hot Diggity!

Hey, everybody, it’s Diggity again! The last time we saw Diggity, it was his second visit here, just after his 11th birthday… in May of 2012. I’m glad to say that I just saw him in December, lazing around in front of a local eatery, and he had not changed a bit. 13 and a half, and still the happiest dog in town. Hooray for Diggity!

His parents haven’t changed much, either: if you look at the pictures from the first time we ran into Diggity, in 2011, you might notice that he was next to the exact same planter.

Dog of the Day: Bagged Chihuahua

I didn’t get this pup’s name or personal info, but I just had to share. Doggie bag!

This pup was just coming out of Petco, I think from a puppy class.

A pretty foxy pup.

Dog of the Day: Hipmunk’s Newest Employee

So I was hard at work last month, making Hipmunk’s software work better. And I looked up from my computer, and there was a pug. And I thought, oh, a dog, I see those all the time, and looked down. It took another couple of seconds for me to realize that, wait, there’re no dogs allowed at Hipmunk. (Boo!)

Turned out one of the office dogs from our upstairs neighbors had gotten curious and wandered downstairs, and visited most of our development team. And, before we caught him, he wandered down another flight of stairs and visited most of the rest of the company too. (He was an unusually shy pug, so it was tough for us to get near him.)

He seemed very intent on exploring every nook and cranny.

I must say, this had me a little worried. But no, he was quite well-mannered and not inclined to mistaking columns for trees.

Eventually I managed to back him into Chris (my coworker), who snagged him, which didn’t seem to make him unhappy.
