Dog of the Day: Cooper the Old English Sheepdog Poodle Mix

Coopah! Cooper (2) is a sheep-a-doodle. Unlike another dog who I will be posting soon, who looks WAY more like an Old English sheepdog than Cooper does, but who has no sheepdog in her at all. Funny, that!

Grey And White Sheepadoodle
I still think that a Cocker spaniel poodle mix should be called a ‘Cock-a-doodle’. (Although would that mean that if the owner had to get out the poop bags they’d be picking up ‘cock-a-doodle doo’?)

Dog of the Day: Macy the Labrador Retriever Pit Bull Mix

I asked if Macy (4 years old) was a Macy’s San Francisco Christmas Window Puppy, but it turns out mom just liked the name.

Looks like almost pure Lab, doesn’t she?

For a mix that has no husky in it, Macy seems to have a very husky sense of humor.

Caturday Supplement: Shop Kitty

A local optometrist has had a couple of different shop cats since I started the blog. Both quite friendly.

Marmalade And White Cat
You can see the sun through her ears. Love that.

Dog of the Day: Pooped French Bulldog

Someone is recharging. Fortunately her head absorbs the sun’s rays and converts it to 90% cheer, 9% drool, and 11% bark. (Yes, it’s very efficient.)

French Bulldogs don’t deflate when they lie like this nearly as much as the English sort do.

Dog of Independence Day: Lou the Chihuahua American Eskimo Dog Golden Retriever Mix

The mind boggles a bit at the mix, but we’ve got pretty much all of North America from Alaska to Mexico represented here, so I guess it’s a good July 4th pup. And Lou is 3, and thus, like the United States, old enough to know better and not old enough to pay much attention.

Worried-Looking American Eskimo Dog Chihuahua Golden Retriever Mix
Just like most of my subjects, I’m not a big fan of fireworks, and I don’t have anyone to go see them with this year, so I’ll be putting in some ear plugs and going to bed early.

Dog of the Day: Owen the Old English Sheepdog Wheaten Terrier ‘Something Something’ Mix

Owen (4) is ‘something’ all right! Never seen an English sheepdog mix with fur like that but dad says he knows so I’ll have to take his word for it.

I’m not going to comment on this whole Twitter/Elon Musk thing in general, but man, it sure has put a damper on my discoverability. I’m going to have to figure out how to share posts on Instagram or one of the new Twitter competitors or something.

English Sheepdog Wheaten Terrier Mix
This is one of those dogs that I just wouldn’t have had the slightest guess at. Very distinctive!

Doggie Bag of the Day

I didn’t get this pup’s name but he’s one of the cuter doggie bags I’ve seen lately.

Cloudy (one of yesterday’s pups) got snippy at this pup when he got too close. Guard dog!

Double Dog Day: Breezy and Cloudy the Shetland Sheepdogs

Two little (well, not all that little) Shelties for your delectation today. Breezy (black and white) is 2, and Cloudy is 14! Cloudy is a bit grumpy sometimes, but she seems to be doing pretty great, all things considered.

Black And White Sheltie And Blue Merle Sheltie In A Van
I ran into them at the farmer’s market, where they have an important job guarding the veggies.

Dog of the Day: Honey the Australian Cattle Dog Mix

Honey is 8, and is just as sweet as her name.

It’s amazing how m any new pups I run across within a block of my own apartment.

Swineday Switchup: Piglettes!

These two are cute enough to make a man give up pork… although, to be fair, I haven’t eaten much pork in years, so it’s not a big lift for me.

I ran across them on a farm in the Santa Cruz mountains. Amazingly, though, they aren’t the first pigs we’re run across on this site, though these are the first that didn’t have pink painted toenails!

Black Piglet And Pink Piglet
They would make such amazing pigs if they never got bigger than this…
