Not at all sure about this glorious beast, either the breeds or the gender. But I’m going to guess it’s a girl, and she definitely has some German shepherd traits and some Australian shepherd ones as well, so… close enough.
You can’t really tell from these pictures, but this is a one-ear-up pup.
Amazing coloration. I’ve never seen a merle that had patches of red merle AND of blue merle, but wasn’t a brindle merle. How does that even work? What is this dog? I am fascinated!
This guy was very, very happy to be camped out in front of a raw pet food stall. Something about the several samples he received, perhaps?
I’m doing… fine. Just have to keep reminding myself that this is eventually going to be over with and I will be none the worse for wear, and that there are ten thousand things that could have happened to me instead that would not have left me so lucky. (Plus, hey, I got a copy of my CAT scan. Anyone else ever seen one of those things? They’re ridiculously cool. I must have spent an hour and a half poking around at it. “Ooh: that’s my SPLEEN!”)
I don’t understand quite why, but ‘bulldog happy’ seems happier than just about any other kind of happy.
This kitty spent lots of time staring off dreamily into space, perhaps daydreaming of a Christmas full of petting and catnip mousies. I think he got one, too, because he was adopted around the 4th of December.

This guy looks like I have been feeling. Turns out I have a really… interesting reaction to strong pain medication, which lasts for a week or so after I take it. And of course when you have kidney stones, you do tend to take it. Expect more erratic posting. I’m going on short-term disability leave, though, so maybe I’ll have more time for dog posts.

Trying to walk a fine line between ‘falling asleep all the time and feeling dizzy when I’m awake’ and ‘OMG PAIN’. Right now I’d like some of the pain back, please, because this level of sedation is an uncomfortable one.
…like hearing the words ‘4 mm cube’, ‘kidney stone’, and ‘two weeks to pass’ all in the same sentence.

Spotty nose!
I was traveling yesterday… starting at 7 AM, and ending at… 10 AM this morning. (It was supposed to end a leeeettle bit earlier than that, but it turns out that both planes AND trains don’t respond well to sub-zero temperatures.) And in all that time, I had approximately 20 minutes of WiFi. Blah.
But… Sydney. I ran into Sydney on the way home, a couple of months ago. It was too dark to get good pictures but I was forced to spend a good five minutes trying anyway, because how could I not? And it turns out Sydney has a tumblr. You should go look at it. It’s okay… I’ll wait. This is important.
Okay… back now? I warn you, the pictures are a little bit blurry, but they’re still worth it. I think you’ll agree, Sydney makes a wonderful Christmas Dog.
