As promised last week, here’s our second fluffball Bouvier, Bentley (2 years). And boy is he a lover. I was a little worried I’d lose Autumn to his charms.
Bentley was perfectly gracious and polite to me, but he just adored Autumn from the moment he set eyes on her.
We met him outside a little eatery in Emeryville, along with another dog whom you’ll be seeing shortly.

Didn’t get a single good picture of his eyes OR his ears. Oh well.

Don’t have a lot of guesses. Spud’s dad thinks basenji, but as a certain wise person once said, if you took all the ‘basenji mixes’ you found out there at face value, and compared it to the number of basenjis in existence, well, it would imply some fascinating reproductive prowess.
Also, gotta admit, I love the name.
Those ears. Oh my god. Spud is just a puppy, 5 months old. I wonder if he’ll grow into them?
Spud introduced himself, and immediately told me he wanted to play. I only got a few pictures because I was too busy playing with him. So cute.
I’ve been saving this post for a day when I have some time and patience. Why? Because I asked the fine people at A Home Within, a national charity with a local office right near me, to send me some pictures of their office dog. And they sent me too many too awesome pictures, and I just had to post all of them!

As Ms. Hoffman said, ‘Some of the pictures are demonstrative of Guiness’s patience with the people around him’.
Another quote that I well believe: “Guinness is a fantastic beast, 90lbs of talkative, goofy sweetness.”
I can tell that Guinness is a blast to play with. I bet he plays a mean game of tag, fetch, and wrestling, often all at the same time.

I have not yet met Guinness. I find this distressing, especially after seeing these pictures.
As I mentioned last weekend, Autumn and I went on a ‘cheese tour of Marin’ a few weeks ago. And on that tour, at the Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company, we got to visit with some of the future stars in the cheese business.
This particular little moo-cow was quite intent on making her point clear.
Apparently they’re separated from their moms so their moms don’t roll over on them and crush them. 🙁
These are the cheeses that that little moo is going to make when she grows up. Two yummy blues and a cheddar-ish farmer’s cheese. Plus a rather delicious fresh mozzarella (not shown).
Brando (2) is a Norwich Terrier. Napoleon (4) is a West Highland white terrier. And Cleo (7, and the lady of the lot) is a Scottie. And the three of them together are triple trouble.
This is an awesome idea. I love the thought of having three small dogs of different colors. You can take one with you no matter what you wear!
They sort of took turns looking me over. Nobody seemed too shy though.

We met Molly while she was out for a walk… or, actually, while she’d sat down and was refusing to walk. Her dad said that she was (relatively recently) pregnant, and wasn’t sure quite what was going on.
Well, congratulations, Molly! I’m sure your puppies will be just as adorable as you are.
Apparently the gentle-dog wasn’t quite as gentle as he should have been, and her muzzle is still recovering. 🙁
Well, that’s a happy look if I’ve ever seen one.
She’s going to make a good mom. I can tell.
Cocoa is a ‘schnoodle’, a schnauzer/poodle mix. I love the term ‘schnoodle’, although it sounds like a mild insult. (‘Shaddap, you schnoodle!’) And I like Cocoa’s name… because I like hot cocoa, and Cocoa is just the right color to remind me of it.
One of the challenges of dog photography is how to get the dogs to take their eyes off mom or dad for long enough to get a picture.
The white spot on his chest? MARSHMALLOW FLUFF!
I’m having a pretty stressful week. (Dental appointment today, which set me up for a rather expensive procedure quite soon, one which includes them drilling a hole in my jawbone and screwing a platinum screw into it. Plus tomorrow I get to give a presentation to a group of engineers, which marks the first presentation I’ve given since college. Yay?)
So here is a very low-effort post of a very adorable fluffball, who I met on my way home from work today. His name is Bandit and he is 4 months old.
I’m glad I ran into Bandit today, he lowered my stress levels noticeably.

Autumn and I were on a ‘cheese tour of Marin‘ (which was awesome, I highly recommend it) and we were having a nice little picnic next to a pond, outside of the Marin French Cheese Company. I saw something moving in the grass, and grabbed my camera, and caught this little guy. He appears to be a ‘coast garter snake‘.
Such pretty markings. Every time I got near him he’d do a threat display of one kind or another.
…and then scurry off in a hurry.
He was the absolute perfect size to make a living bracelet.
