Not sure about this guy… Pom is a pretty sure guess, but what else? Not sure. Could be pure Pom, but I don’t think so.
Second picture after the break.

Whatever he was, he was very well-trained and not afraid of anything.

I’m cheating a bit with this one. It’s the dog of a friend of Autumn’s, in the midwest. But I like the picture a lot.
Just the one picture today.

Poor little guy broke his leg tearing around, and was in that cast for over a month.
Two Australian Shepherds for you today, one the standard black tricolor, and one rather unusual red merle. I tried to get the redhead to pose for some better pictures, but she (if I recall correctly they were both girls) wasn’t having any of it. She was far too interested in mom. Ah well… the black tricolor was a happy ham, so that’s fine by me.
One more picture after the break.

A fine pair. If I recall correctly, these are both show dogs, too, though I don't remember if they were winners or not.
For your consideration, three pictures of a cute golden retriever today, two below the break.
This guy was waiting patiently outside of a bar when I saw him. I’m not clear on how long he was there, but he sure did look bored, and even a little rubdown didn’t perk him up much. He even rolled onto his back and let me pet his belly (though I didn’t get a good picture of that), but he looked morose the whole time I did it. Pining for the fjords, maybe.

Canis lupus familiaris, breed 'goden retriever', front view. Note sad expression, ridiculous fluff.
Who’s that coming down the street on that crazy hawg?* Is he mad? Is he bad?
Is he an awesome dawg?
(* I have no idea if it’s really a Harley, the rhyme was just too good to pass up. I’ve put all three pictures above the fold on this one, because they’re just too cool not to appear on the front page.)
Incidentally, in my experience, pit bulls get a really bad rap. I’ve never met one who was aggressive, and only met one who wasn’t friendly and full of love. And that one was a recent rescue dog who had been abused and who was kind of skittish… but who could blame him?

As Autumn and I approached the bike, we were like, 'is that really... that can't be...'

Oh yes it was. A happy friendly licky pitbull, who was delighted to meet us.

How awesome a dog do you have to be to stick your head out the window of a motorcycle?
Another short-ish post for another sick day. Bleh, this cold is a nasty one. Unlike basically every other one I’ve had in many years, it starts in the chest and just sits there for a while. (Autumn and Alex, my coworker, both seem to have had this same thing, and it did the same thing to them.)
Anyway, neither Autumn nor I are sure what exactly this dog is, but it does seem to be a terrier of some kind. And I just love its expression. In fact, I have to say, this is one of my favorites, even if it is a bit blurry.

I just adore the little tiny bit of tongue showing.
Autumn and I are sick, with a nasty cold that infects the lungs and saps the will to do anything except lie in bed and moan. She’s got it worse than me so far, but there’s no telling what things will be like in a day or two.
So I had to find a nice happy dog for today. We’re not sure what this gal is, but our best guess is an Australian Shepherd mix. All I can tell you is that she’s pretty awesome. The first picture is of her soliciting attention. The next two, after the break, is what she looks like after she gets a good skritching.

If you're adorable and you know it raise your paw (raise your paw!)
This post completes our set (so far as I know) of dog hybrids. In the past we’ve had a half-dingo and a half-wolf, and the guy on the left here is a half-coyote. Unsurprisingly, if you know anything about coyotes, he’s very playful, both with humans and with other dogs. He’s also very cuddly and licky.
And darned cute.

Coming soon in a theatre near you: Dancing Coydog, Baffled Labrador.
To make up for the lack of a dog yesterday, here’s an adorable black lab puppy.

Also appearing in this picture, an anonymous foot and hand, just about to be licked.
Dog of the day is delayed due to technical issues with the WordPress iPhone app.
Update: Sorry. No dog today. And the WordPress iPhone app works great, except when it’s eating your posts and losing them without any trace. Yay.
