I’m trying a little experiment here: a post from my iPhone. Let’s see how it goes.
We ran into this pair today, an Old English sheep dog and his mini-me. I have no idea what breed the little one is… hopefully someone out there (probably Autumn) can help me. They’re both pretty ridiculously fluffy though.
These guys were a real challenge.
I love this guy. Such a goofy expression. And check out the second picture, on the flip side, where he’s checking out a boxer puppy!
Contact your vet if your dog isn't at least this goofy sometimes.
I know absolutely nothing about these little guys, except that they remind me of storm troopers, with their little helmet-hair.

These two are clearly plotting revenge against the rottie who barked at them.
I have to admit, I wasn’t terribly fond of pugs at first glance. However, I have to say they’ve been growing on me. Despite the funny face and health problems which eventually led to the recall of the entire breed, I have found that they are almost without fail nice, friendly, happy dogs.
I have to say, though… it clearly must have taken an ungodly amount of effort of breeding to turn a wolf into a pug. And the people who thought that was a good idea have a lot to answer for.

You’d think this guy was hot, but as you can see in the second picture (after the break) he was actually basking in the sun, exposing maximal surface area to the sunlight. God, with that much fur, I don’t think I’d ever be cold in San Francisco.
Newfies are amazingly neat dogs. There’s just so much dog, under so much fluff. And they’re so nice, and so gentle, and pretty smart, too. And is there any breed that you want more to just reach out and hug?

This is not just any German Shepherd mix: this is Rover! Half German Shepherd, half wolf, and all awesome. He is an inhabitant of our local neighborhood, and he is a perfect gentleman, with people and with other dogs. He’s also a shameless lover of attention, and knows all of the store owners in the area very well. They all know him, too, and most of them keep a treat or two behind the counter for him. He’s getting on in years, but he’s still pretty spry, and smart as a whip.
(Rover is simultaneously soliciting skritches from a stranger and gazing adoringly at his dad. Efficient!)

Is this or is this not one of the cutest signs you’ve ever seen? This place is on Second a little South of Mission, and has quite tasty muffins! (So what breed do you think it is? I think it’s a Scottie, but there are plenty of other possibilities.)

We haven’t had a Golden for a while, and they’re such awesome dogs. This one may well have been the biggest Goldens I’d ever seen, and that’s saying something, since Autumn’s Ceili is pretty darn huge herself.

Hopefully this will make things a little less cluttered on the front page, and will also encourage people to click through and maybe even comment. I didn’t realize there were lots of dingoes running around loose on the streets of San Francisco, but apparently it’s more common than you think. Or, well, than I think, anyway.
This one is a particularly awesome one, too… friendly as all get-out and happy as can be. Her name is ‘Ginger’, and she can apparently often be found in the mornings helping Robert V. Doerr, Jr, accordionist, entertain passengers at the Van Ness Civic Center Muni Station. (Corrected… sorry, Robert!)

I love this guy… awesomely foofly, and happy. I remember the day we took it, it was evening, and Autumn and I were wandering around down on Polk Street. But I can’t for the life of me remember what breed this dog was. Golden/something? Husky/something? Could be a Golden/Husky, I guess. But whatever he was, he had character by the truckload.
