Murph was visiting a local dog park with his sis Penny on one of our now-vanishingly-rare rainy days, and was having a lot of fun splashing around.

I ran across this in the city last month. And then the next day it was gone. And then the day after that I ran across it a couple of streets away.
For those who don’t feel like zooming in, the sign on the door says “DO NOT DISTURB or we’ll kill you” and it is held up by flowered happy pretty-color tape. The stickers in the window say “MAKE MARIJUANA LEGAL”, “Prevent Overdose, Save Lives. www.drugpolicy.org”, and “LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA”.
So is the name ‘Breaking Worse’ already taken?

That little moving thing is on the end of a long springy thing.
I kind of like the way the cat is flowing like water in this picture.
Kind of burnt out after this whole election, and the not-getting-home-until-10 thing doesn’t help. I’m going to take a few days off, and will see y’all either Friday or Saturday.
She can heal with a kiss if you’re feeling sad. She’s frequently naughty but never quite bad. And she wants to go walkies whenever you’re free. Yes she’s cute and she’s fuzzy and always a Lady to me!

Lady’s a good-sized Aussie. I see so many tiny ones, even ones that weren’t bred to be miniature, that it’s always nice to see a biggun.

Not a lot of people know this — and why on earth should they? — but in addition to collecting dogs (photographs and smooches), I also collect vanity license plates (just photographs, thanks). Many are inexplicable, many are utterly banal, and many are vaguely amusing. And then there are groaners. For the daylight savings switchup, I give you one vaguely amusing one and one groaner.
The vaguely amusing one. It’s a Tesla. It’s parked near a house with solar panels on the roof, too.
Nnngh. Yes, that’s a groaner all right.
Ran into this pretty kitty when I was down in the Bayview, which is where my auto repair class is. These days it’s more or less dark by the time I get down there, so even if I see him again I probably won’t manage to get any more pictures, which is a shame because he’s ‘totes dorbs’.
Didn’t let me get very close. This is where it would be nice to have a zoom lens.
I ran across this pup and I was utterly bewildered for quite some time. A stocky dog with classic ‘long dog’ build, not as squat as a basset hound but definitely with very short legs for his size. Ears that most closely remind me of those of a saluki, which he could not possibly resemble less. Fur coloration and texture combination like absolutely nothing that I can think of. I seem to recall the owners speculating about Gordon setter ancestry, but that certainly doesn’t explain the color or the shape or, well, I just can see it. Gordon setters are so tall and skinny. You’d have to cross them with something with no legs at all in order to come up with something like this guy.
And yet the ears (aside from their color) and the size and the fur texture all reminded me of something. Now what was it… Oh man, it was Baylor the field spaniel! In fact, this guy looks like a cross between Baylor and his best friend, Lyra the ‘silken windhound’. But he couldn’t possibly… I mean, they couldn’t possibly… I mean how could that even…
Well, I guess I’ll let you be the judge.
Could possibly also be a field spaniel/German shepherd? Maybe?

Here you can see the ‘long and squat’ shape. Weird dog. Happy though.
Mm, dunno. I feel like there could be some Australian shepherd or border collie in there as well. Could also maybe be English setter or German longhaired pointer instead of German shorthaired? Hard to say. Pretty darn cute though!
