Two adorable Macy’s marmies: marmalade (oh god I love marmalade) tiger tabby kittens, aka Ginger McStripeypantses. I don’t know why the soft food was still there, it normally disappears instantly upon being put out.
So, who would you adopt, the philosophical-looking one, or the task-oriented one?
Trick question: the only acceptable answer is BOTH OF THEM.
I am such a dog-stalker it is not even funny. I saw Cassie from across the street when I was walking to work, and before I crossed the street she and her dad had walked into a store and were wandering around looking at stuff. So I went in after them and cornered them and oh my goodness who would have expected to find an Airedale terrier in this store? Certainly not I!
Okay, okay. I. But what I didn’t expect was to hear that Cassie is eleven years old, because she looked maybe five, tops. I would have guessed four. Perfectly sound, and she’s still got that terrier springiness that you see in young, peppy pups. If the blog is still going in five years, I’ll have to check back with her, because I bet she still will be too.

Maverick, as you might have guessed, just got fixed. Maverick is not one to dwell on the past, though. Maverick would just like you to stop and pet him so he can lick you.
Was awfully tempted to edit out that one foot, so you couldn’t see any body at all, but that was too much like work.
Like I said: didn’t let it bother him one bit.
Finley is a miniature goldendoodle puppy who looks just like a miniature golden retriever. She’s not an official ‘comfort retriever‘ but she might as well be one. And oh god is she adorable and happy and bouncy and SO ENERGETIC.

This was a 100 percent male name until celebs Jason Sehorn and Angie Harmon bestowed it on their daughter, recently followed by Lisa Marie Presley, who used it for one of her (female) twins. Now there are two girls named Finley for every boy. Finlay is also popular. Can Finleigh be far behind?
I swear, I did not notice that line down her nose at all. I have no idea what it is.

Autumn has taken to calling this phenomenon (tiny bit of tongue showing) in cats a ‘blep’. I just call it a-dorable.
Okay, so Vito might not be the absolute happiest golden retriever anywhere ever at all times. But he was more than happy enough to put a smile on my face on Sunday, when I ran into him. And, it appears, I was enough to put a smile onto his face as well.
When I walked up, Vito was trying very hard to knock over (with love!) an older Italian woman with a walker, and she was enjoying every second of it. Vito seems to have that effect on most people.
Yes, Vito has a splootch of white (aka a ‘medallion’) in the middle of his chest.
The parrots of Telegraph Hill. (If you haven’t seen the movie, it’s awesome.) I never get tired of these guys, no matter how many times they wake me up at 5 AM (‘Squawk! Squawk squawk!’) while flying by (or perching near) my apartment. So pretty, and so playful and fun to watch. And after you’ve watched them for a while, it’s hard to escape the feeling that they have a sense of humor.
They’re very patient groomers. It’s pretty adorable, really.

I spent more time than I probably should have watching these three little kittens play in the window of Macy’s this year. Since I was 10 minutes late to an appointment that I’d planned to arrive 10 minutes early for.
Someone has the (volunteer) job of dangling toys into the cat windows at Macy’s during the holiday season.
I’ve posted a couple of Macy’s window kittens recently, so I think it might be time for a Macy’s window puppy. This sleepy little mutt did not do anything exciting either of the two times I walked by while he was in there, but he won my heart nonetheless.

This goldendoodle got a little impatient and decided to take herself out for a walk. Don’t worry, though… she was on-leash at all times.
There really needs to be a separate blog for ‘dogs who take themselves for walks’. But only ones who hold their own leashes.
I’m not sure what the floofy one is, but that’s one dubious dachshund in the foreground there. I’m thinking he didn’t want his picture taken. Sorry, pup!
I have no idea what I did to attract his attention.
