We interrupt this blog to bring you the following important news bulletin: Tidus (whom we have featured here, here, here, and here) is currently recovering from surgery following a ruptured disc. From what I understand, the prognosis is cautiously positive, but it couldn’t hurt to send good wishes his way.

I ran into Dixie in a pet store, and oh boy, was she happy to be there.

I’m too tired to think of a caption, so I’ll just let Dixie speak for herself.
Over three years ago, I ran into Chase about two blocks from my home. Last month, I ran into Chase about as far from my home as you can get and still be in San Francisco. I am glad to report that he is doing just fine. And is just as gorgeous as he was then.
Not a lot of breeds that have a coat like that. Almost looks like the background of ‘Starry Night’.

Chase is a very photogenic dog. I could take pictures of him for hours.

Finally, an extremely long but extremely short bundle of six-month-old cuteness for you. I did not, despite temptation, actually run across the street against the light to catch up with Molly. I waited for the light to change, and then had to jog more than a block in my work clothes instead. But it was worth it, even if dad didn’t have much time and so I only got a few pictures.
A perfectly proportioned corgi. What you can’t tell is that she’s about 60% of full size. So. Cute.
And ‘fwip!’ go the fully-convertable ears.

Oso is 7 months old, and a giant bundle of energy. He seemed very mischievous, perhaps even more so than your average German shepherd. Not that there is such a thing as an average German shepherd.
Obviously, I ran into Oso at the beach. Ocean Beach, in point of fact.
I have no idea what he was really looking at, but i love the expression.
Oso tried to make a break out into the water. That did not go over well with mom.
These two are going to have a long and happy time together, I could tell.

I am really glad Louie’s dad was extra proud of him, because I took up way more of his time than I normally allow myself. (I’m pretty strict about how much time I let myself steal from people, because otherwise I’d be making them late to appointments left and right.)

This is actually the second puppy I’ve caught swimming through the ivy here, but I can’t find the post of the first one to save my life.
I ran into Maya (4 months) on the way home last week. Oh. My. God. This one has mastered the art of advanced wiggling like no dog I have ever met before.
Out of about 40 shots (many blurry) this is one of only three where she was not actively wiggling.
Somebody is teething.
That totally looks like a cat playing with some yarn to me.
Maya was an incredible goofball.
I predict a future full of lots of belly rubs for this pup.
Maya moved out here with her dad from Cincinnati, but they both seem to be settling in just fine. If you see her, make sure to give her a warm San Francisco welcome. With lots of belly rubs.
Rocket is also known as ‘Rocket Dog’, but apparently is not related to Rocket Dog Rescue. She was 11 weeks old when I ran across her, and was stopping traffic she was so cute. Not that traffic is ever going very fast at that time of day (rush hour) in that area (near the Bay Bridge). But she had a noticeable impact.
Someone is getting socialized well. Rocket’s not going to be one of those shy mini-Aussies.
She still has convertible ears. Here seen in the ‘stowed’ position.
I saw her turn those puppydog eyes on three other people walking by while I was there. They worked on all four of us.
I’m kind of surprised how big she was at 11 weeks. I would have guessed she was a regular Aussie, not a miniature.

I thought of redoing the entire front page as ‘DOGE’ pics, but it turns out that that takes a really long time and a surprising amount of mental effort, and it has not been a good couple of days. So here’s my favorite gag from another site.
Today has been a day that I really needed a puppy. So many annoying things, so many companies that I thought I couldn’t hate any more than I already do… until today.
Fortunately, here’s Xena, age six months, with plenty of kisses and a waggy tail.
I ran into Xena at ‘Streat Food‘, a sort of parking lot for food trucks in San Francisco. Needless to say, she was enthralled with the smells.
Xena is definitely adventurous. She wanted to investigate every single one of those trucks.
More dogs need those splashes of white on their chests. (I guess they’re called ‘medallions’.)
