Fortunately, there was a street fair nearby, so this fella got attention from dozens of people.
He got all up in my bidness.
No, that’s not an instruction, it’s a name. Meet Poof, who turned four years old on St. Patrick’s Day.
Poof was tearing around at high speed, and it wasn’t very bright outside, so mom scooped her up so she wouldn’t just be a blur.
I’m not sure what the paw holding was really about, but Poof sure seemed to like it.
They really do look like teddy bears.
Quick post from the road today. Spent the evening at a nice concert, at the home of Tillie the dog. She still has good taste in music… here she is appreciating it from the front row.

No matter how many pictures I took of Pepsi’s tail, it would never match the grandeur of seeing it in person. It is amazing, and even moreso because this is a breed which isn’t even supposed to have a tail.
Not only a giant poofly tail, but the fur is SO SOFT.
See? Look at that tail. (Yes, he did bark a lot. But he didn’t mean anything by it. He just had a lot to say.)

Mom said she thought Watson was a golden/border collie… if she’s right, then this dog is probably both smart enough to run down to the office supplies place to pick up an ink cartridge for your printer so you can print out your taxes, and adoring enough that he won’t even judge you for waiting until the last minute to do them.
I think it’s a good guess, but I also put in a vote for ‘golden/Sheltie’, because of the fawn sable coloration of some of the fur (brown fur with dark tips), and because, although it’s hard to tell in these pictures, he’s smaller than a border collie, let alone a golden retriever.
In other news: I paid a visit to Tidus over the weekend. The poor pup! He’s recovering, and doing as well as could be expected for someone who just had major back surgery (and who is almost half shaved!) And I am assured that he is getting plenty of hugs, and lots of rest, and lots of un-fun but necessary physical therapy, and should be up and walking just fine again in the next couple of months. A much better outcome than it could have been, if he had had a less observant family.
You can just tell someone is a total goofball.

Jake (5) is the store dog for a UPS store down on Chestnut Street, in the Marina district of San Francisco. He will help you with your packages (especially if they contain food), and is always very snappily dressed.
I’m always a little leery around chihuahuas, but Jake and the one I just dogsat (pictures soon) are slowly winning me over.
See the tail blur? Even when the rest of him was still (rare), his tail was wagging enthusiastically.
Autumn and I took a trip a couple of weekends ago up to the Marine Mammal Center, and saw all the baby elephant seals. They were amazingly cute, especially for something that grows up to look like this.
Autumn and I both thought this (seal) pup looked like it was wearing shiny silk pajamas.
Seal harmony. They make LOTS of funny noises. Also, the one in the lower right… that looks an awful lot like a smile, doesn’t it?

I work at Cloudmark, an antispam company that works with everyone from ISPs (Comcast, AT&T, Earthlink, Cox Cablevision, etc) all the way down to individual users. It’s not every job where you can come home and say ‘I spent the day fighting the Russian Mafia’ (a prolific source of spam). And even fewer where you can say that repeatedly and still have a pretty good chance of being alive.
Ran into this rather patient pup hanging out on Polk Street. Quite a getup!

Just a quickie tonight, I need some extra sleep. This is Eve, who I mistook for a Gordon setter mix. She’s 8 years old.
The floofy white thing in the lower right hand corner is someone else’s tail.
