Dog of the Day: Cowboy Cody the Teacup Australian Shepherd

Another of the pups from yesterday. Cowboy Cody, I have to say, seems like he might have been the most awesome of them all.

Teacup Australian Shepherd

Happy face! I just had a few minutes to watch him, but I think he probably looks like that most of the time.

Teacup Australian Shepherd

Those ears. So ridiculous. I wonder if you could braid them?

Double Dog Day: Denim and Merle the Teacup Australian Shepherds

If I recall correctly, these people were the breeders of these ‘teacup’ Australian Shepherds. I did not build this blog to be a vehicle for my theories regarding responsible dog breeding, so I will merely say that they seemed to be happy, sociable, and adorable.

If I am deciphering my notes correctly, the red (merle) one is Merle and the blue (merle) one is Denim. But I’m not sure about that.

Teacup Australian Shepherds

Wow. Those are some truly ridiculous ears.

Teacup Australian Shepherds

Someone's been swimming. Or at least wading.

Teacup Australian Shepherd

Ridiculous schnozosity too.

Teacup Australian Shepherd

They're full grown, but clearly this one will be mistaken for a puppy all her life.

Teacup Australian Shepherd

Denim wasn't nearly as shy as this expression might lead you to expect.

Dog of the Day: Older Golden Retriever

Depressed? Or just really, really relaxed? You decide!

Golden Retriever

Just a giant puddle of golden retriever. (And yes, I did throw out the cigarette butt after the picture.)

Golden Retriever

Yes, after I finished taking these pictures I had to stop and give her a lot of petting, and eventually a thorough belly rub. She just looked like she deserved it.

Dog of the Day: Una the Shiba Inu

Pictures in the shade. This is the only one that wasn’t blurry, because the only time Una stopped for long enough for me to get a shot was when I found an itchy spot under her collar. (The black thing in my hand is not her collar, it’s my camera cover.)

Shiba Inu

Look at the tight curl on that tail. One of Autumn's hobbies is going around uncurling curly dog tails.

Dog of the Day: Maxine the Chocolate Lab Puppy

The cute is strong with this one. 10 weeks old.

Chocolate Labrador Retriever Puppy

Look at the teeny tiny little claws! So cute that you hardly notice when you get gouged.

Chocolate Labrador Retriever Puppy

I have no idea what she was gazing at here, but whatever it was, it must've been pretty compelling.

Chocolate Labrador Retriever Puppy

Sometimes the puppies tire before the people do. Don't worry, in another couple months you'll have a dog that can wear you out without even breathing hard.

Chocolate Labrador Retriever Puppy

I have no idea what this expression is, but I want to see it more often... it's ridiculous!

Dog of the Day: Another American Pit Bull/Australian Cattle Dog Mix?

This one would be red merle instead of blue, but otherwise he looks pretty similar to Diablito. And he’s definitely got that ACD ball-related OCD.

Australian Cattle Dog/American Pit Bull Terrier Mix

Another example of bandanas making awesome dogs awesomer.

Australian Cattle Dog/American Pit Bull Terrier Mix

These were taken using the 'real' camera: our Canon 50d. I really need to start trotting that thing out more often.

Australian Cattle Dog/American Pit Bull Terrier Mix

Liked this picture so much I had it sent off to a high-quality printing place. We'll see how it comes out.

Dog of the Day: German Shepherd

Achtung! Ein Snorghund nähert!

Or, uh, something like that.

German Shepherd

One of the iconic breeds that I think of when I think 'dog'.

Dog of the Day: Bean the Coton de Tulear

It seems ‘Tulear’ is a city in Madagascar, and ‘coton’ should be pretty obvious, not only from spelling but also from the appearance of this rather ridiculous pup.

This is Bean, a 2.5 year old super-fluffy example of the breed. His mom explained that he needed to be groomed, but I think he’s awesome the way he is.

Coton de Tulear

This was my first sight of Bean. I couldn't tell what I was looking at, and I still can't. Is that a tongue? Is that a nose? Where's his FACE?

Coton de Tulear

That's a little clearer... he does have a nose! And eyes, and a tongue. I'm not so sure about ears though.

Coton de Tulear

Aww. Happy face. And so... round. Practically spherical!

Dog of the Day: Dalmatian

I was pretty sure I’d seen this guy before, and indeed I had. Only last time I saw him, he had this amazing goofy grin on his face. This time he looks… serious.

Dalmatian

I was sitting next to him and playing with his ears. This is what he looked like while I was playing with them.

Dalmatian

And this is what he looked like about five seconds after I stopped.

Dalmatian

Shortly, thereafter, mom let him off the leash and he went off to meet some friends.

Dog of the Day: Young Boxer

Warning: ridiculous underbite ahead!

Boxer

The ear floppage is pretty funny too.

Boxer

So gangly!

Boxer

I must say, I love that collar. Bow Wow Ruff Woof to you too!
