Dog of the Day: Jasmine the Labrador Retriever Puppy

As much as I hate to sound like the stereotypical idiot, hey! It turns out there really is more to photography than having a good camera. I got a bunch of pictures of this gal, mostly interacting adorably with other dogs. But those dogs were really light colors, and she’s super-dark, and I ended up with some decent pictures of other dogs plus one vaguely dog-shaped blotch of utter darkness. I have included one below, both for illustrative purposes and because the expression on the other dog’s face is pretty funny.

Every few seconds the pup would run back to dad to make sure he was still there. Adorable.

Dog of the Day: Bernese Mountain Dog/Golden Retriever Mix

Can you believe that this guy is the same breed mix as this guy is?

They do have a few things in common: they're both big, they both have floppy ears, they both love everybody.

But Mulligan didn't have 'toehawks': the big fluffy tufts of fur that come from between a golden retriever's toes. Ridiculous.

Dog of the Day: Max the Pomeranian

I ran into this Pom the other day, and then again, I think, today. I think. There can’t be that many 14-year-old Pomeranians with puppy cuts in South Beach, can there?

I used to think puppy cuts were cheating. Now that I'm getting older, I just wish there were such a thing for humans.

Dog of the Day: That Doggie in the Window

Looks like a Maltese to me. No idea what goes on there, but whatever it is, I’m sure it is only improved by a pooch’s presence.

Seen in San Francisco: Cloudbreak

A couple people have complimented me on the title image for the blog, with the misty bridge. I was really only planning on keeping that up there until I got a suitable dog panorama to put there, but it does make me think maybe some ‘San Francisco’ images, to go with the ‘Dogs’ images, might not be a bad idea. I’ll still be posting a dog a day, but I will occasionally post some cityscape pictures as well. Like this one:

Dog of the Day: Tiny Yorkshire Terrier

I could just about handle having a Yorkie, if it weren’t for the high-pitched yaps. Other than that, they’re generally pretty nice dogs, and not too timid. And they’re undeniably cute.

Dog of the Day: Biscuit the Golden Retriever

Yeah, I know, I post a lot of these guys. But every third person seems to have one, and it’s pretty obvious why: they’re great dogs.
