Thirty pictures of Rigby… one came out. The rest were all in the sun, and while in person Rigby is positively glorious in the sun, on a camera he is a black silhouette with burning white highlights. I’m surprised he didn’t melt my lens.
A corgi/border collie mix? Rigby can probably herd TREES.
It’s been a very long time (over six years, for those keeping track) since I was the head of IT at Xythos Software. It wasn’t my favorite job, especially after we were acquired by Blackboard, about whom the less said the better.
But I will admit to a certain nostalgia for having my own office. This was the view, nine years ago today, from my office window.
And this was probably the LEAST scenic view of any of the occupied offices.

Palmer (8) is my kind of dog: he’s got his sarcastic side, but he’s happy and friendly too. (And wow, have I really not posted a corgi for almost four months??)

I feel like if I followed this dog around for a day I would get every possible canine facial expression.
Don’t have any notes for these two, but I seem to recall that they were a little under a year old when I ran into them.
I somehow think of German shepherds as the frat boys of the canine world.
They sure are gorgeous.
I’m not sure what the coloration on the back pup is, aside from ‘a lot more sable than I’m used to seeing on a German shepherd’.
Two puppies in a row! I saw them both on the same day, near the end of last year. Kuma was 5 months old, and had not quite grown into those ears… assuming she ever will.

She wanted to greet everyone who walked by. Which is pretty tough on a busy sidewalk in downtown San Francisco.

Did you know, before the current ‘pit bulls are the worst dogs ever’ craze, the worst dogs ever were German shepherds? You can tell she’s totally vicious, right?
Bart is so named because his owners got him on a BART train. I gather someone was going around trying to give him away, which is I guess a better option than giving him to some shelter somewhere, since a lot of the dogs that go in don’t come out the other side. Well… I’m glad he found a good home.

Rumor has it Poppy is around 1/8 wolf, and she’s half Australian cattle dog, but the rest is anybody’s guess. She’s seven years old, and friendly as heck.
This dog has fabulous camo. Would totally disappear into a forest.
That’s a ‘service dog’ tag. Bet she makes a great service dog.
I feel like I’ve gotten almost this exact shot, of this exact dog, before. But I can’t find it. Puzzling.
Kind of pretty, isn’t it? I think it’s a moth, but I’m not sure… we have some brown butterflies around here too, like the ‘mournful duskywing‘. And the antennae aren’t visible (I think those are legs) so it’s kind of hard to tell.
(Just spent fifteen minutes panicking because my site wasn’t loading properly… only to find it was because Google’s static font server is broken. It’s always nice when it’s someone else’s problem… I guess.)
I really do think moths are under-appreciated. This one’s quite pretty.
