Blog News: Move Complete… With A Minor Issue

Edit: Yay move is complete except for the whole ‘can’t click on any posts ha ha ha’ part. I am working on this and will get it fixed as soon as I can.

Edit 2: Okay. Fixed. Boy that was annoying.

So, I moved the blog over to my new hosting. Some of you may have noticed by the fact that it now loads quickly instead of ridiculously slowly.

Only one thing went wrong: my site got kind of messed up in the process, and I had to go back to the backup. Which SHOULD have been 100% current, since I make one at 1 AM every day and my last post was well before that. But for some reason my last post, the ridiculously adorable Pomeranian/husky mix, disappeared.

I’ll try to fetch it from the mangled old site, or maybe just recreate it, but in the mean time, if you saw it, you’re among the lucky few.

Anyway, posting will be back on track tomorrow.

Double Dog Day: Macy’s Window Puppies

I’m a little down today, and need a pick-me-up. And I’d love to pick these two up, so that seems quite appropriate to me.

Two German Shepherd Mix Puppies

The two of them were staring fixedly at the section of wall that someone had just opened up to refill the water bowl.

Two Adorable Puppies

Look at the spectacle markings on the one in the back.

Dog of the Day: Stella the Golden Retriever

I thought Stella was a puppy but she’s really 8.

Golden Retriever Looking Noble

The tag says ‘I love you so much.’ Well, after all, this IS a golden retriever.

Golden Retriever Looking Snide And Sticking Tongue Out

That’s an unusual expression for a golden.

Golden Retriever Sitting And Grinning

There, that’s a more typical expression.

Golden Retriever Grinning

I needed that little smile, after calling and emailing quite a few dog shelters today.

Golden Retriever Sniffing The Camera

Schnozz schott!

Site News: Someone Please Adopt This Dog?

Even a foster home would be wonderful. She’s such a sweetheart, I can’t imagine how anyone came to the conclusion that she was unadoptable. No aggression, and she takes around 30 seconds to warm up to people. Literally. I have the feeling that her nervousness may be because she was in a puppy mill for a while, and the Animal Care & Control facility reminds her of that, but even still, having met her, I can’t imagine any sensible person coming to such a conclusion.

So. So much for ‘humane San Francisco’. If you can’t take her but know someone who can, or know a group that might be able to take her, please leave a comment or drop me a line at alang at this blog’s address (dogsofsf.com) ASAP.

Please?

Sleepy Sunday Switchup: Sea Lions

I realize I post a fair number of pictures of these guys, but hey… I like ’em.

Sea Lions Sleeping On Top Of One Another On Pier 39 In San Francisco

I love their teeny tiny ears.

Sea Lion Grinning At The Camera On Pier 39 San Francisco

I have six shots of this guy, all taken right in a row. In only one of them, the third one, he grinned at me like this, just for a split second.

Sea Lion With Neck Twisted Sideways Sleeping On Pier 39 San Francisco

I swear sea lions have some ferret in them.

Row Of Sea Lion Tails On Pier 39 San Francisco

I was taking this one to get a picture of the ridiculously little bitty tails, but then this guy in the water kept bobbing up and down in front of ’em.

Male Sea Lion Scratching His Face With His Tail Flipper, Pier 39, San Francisco

For some reason when I first saw this guy’s picture I thought ‘Alfred Hitchcock.’ Now I don’t see the resemblance. The brain is a funny thing.

Every lazy Sunday must eventually come to an end.

GrumpyCaturday Supplement

Berkeley SPCA was having an event today: they were showing off their new mobile adoption center: a big van full of comfy-looking animal compartments (and adorable animals) that they can take around to different places to hold adoption events. And they manage to snag rather a big name to help them celebrate their new acquisition.

So, I spent a chunk of this afternoon standing in line so I could get a picture with Grumpy Cat. The movie is really not my kind of thing, so I probably won’t be seeing it, but I thought I’d be pretty remiss in my duties as a pet blogger if I didn’t at least get a photo when I got the opportunity. So… here’s GC, and me.

Adam Lang And Grumpy Cat Tardar Sauce Sleeping

I really feel for the kitty. She’s a real trouper, helping to raise money for various animal-related charities, but I was happy to see that she was getting plenty of cat naps.

Grumpy Cat Sleeping In Front Of A Photograph Of Herself

No touching was allowed. Pity, that.

Dog of the Day: Macy the Australian Shepherd Mix Window Puppy

I’m really not sure about anything about this one, except for the fact that it is utterly ridiculous.

Edit: This pup’s adoptive family have showed up in the comments (and in an email to me). It sounds like she’s found a happy home, and has been named Macy in honor of her former position. Too cute!

White Puppy With Black head With Tan Points And Black Spots

Yup, Macy’s window again, this one just a few days before Christmas.

White Puppy With Black head With Tan Points And Black Spots

Is there anything about this dog that ISN’T cute?

White Puppy With Black head With Tan Points And Black Spots

He was people-watching. He didn’t get up or do anything except stare out the window with a look of complete absorption. At least, until…

White Puppy With Black head With Tan Points And Black Spots In The Shape Of A Snowman On His Back

Oh geez I didn’t notice until just now… how perfect is this for a Christmas adoption? He’s got a SNOWMAN on his back.

White Puppy With Black head With Tan Points And Black Spots Howling

At this point an ambulance went by and he started howling along with it. Too cute.

Dog of the Day: Ellie the Maremma Sheepdog

Say hello to Ellie! Ellie is owned by the owners of the amazing San Francisco restaurant ‘Flour and Water’. She’s lovely, and quite svelte… if I was in any way associated with that place I would, let’s say, definitely not stay svelte.

Smiling Maremma Sheepdog

I think this is our first Maremma sheepdog, too. They’re lovely.

Dog of the Day: Blue Merle Collie

Collies are already gorgeous. Blue merle collies might be unfairly so.

Double Dog Day: Yorkie Yorkie Surprise

They’re catching up on their Zs, so they can run around licking everyone in sight with extra energy later.

Two Sleeping Yorkshire Terriers And a Stuffed Animal On A Dog Bed

Another picture brought to you by the front window of The Groom Room.

Yorkshire Terrier Curled Up On A Dog Bed

They were only intermittently asleep. Not sure how they knew I was looking at them, through a window, but know they did.
