I don’t know, I just think these two Huskies look particularly impish.

I don’t know if the one on the right is a mix or just a very unusually colored husky, but isn’t she gorgeous?
I spent a chunk of today attending a gala luncheon! All part of the glamorous lifestyle of the San Franciscan, which I normally have as much to do with as I do the glamorous lifestyle of the Australian kangaroo farmer. But in this case, I was invited by Guide Dogs for the Blind, which is a local nonprofit, to cover their event for my blog. The sacrifices I make for my readers!
So I will be posting some pictures from the luncheon this Sunday, and probably some more next Sunday, since I have a LOT of pictures and they need a LOT of editing. (I have decent equipment for outdoor work but not indoor.) But in the mean time, I wanted to get one picture up here for you, just as a little preview.
I just got back from a visit to a certain pair of adorable Bernese mountain dogs, whom Autumn is dog-sitting. I’m just glad there weren’t three of them, because I only had two hands and they were both so obviously in need of petting! (And right at the moment I need a shower, because I have had most of my head licked. But ah well, I’ve gone to bed dirtier than that before.)
But I’m tired, now. And my eye itches. And I am hoping you can’t get pinkeye from a dog tongue. So here, have a pug in a purple octopus costume. I’m going to bed.
Kind of looks like a Chinese crested, but with fur all over. Some Chinese cresteds do have fur all over, but it turns out that they don’t look anything like other Chinese cresteds. So whatever, I dunno, she’s kinda cute. (And she’s adopted, yay!)
So I said I’d have another puppy for you guys on Friday, and then I left at 7 AM and didn’t get home until well after midnight. So he had to wait until today. Mea culpa!
I’m worried I’m spoiling you guys rotten. Two dogs this cute in a four-day period? I can’t possibly keep that up for long.
Someone got adopted! This kitten is getting a new home, and a new, noble name: Atticus! (I approve, especially given the proud history of the name here on DoSF.)
I ran into two tremendously, ridiculously adorable puppies today. One I will be posting tomorrow, barring misfortune, and that one I actually got to play with. This one I just got to peer in a window at, and occasionally see wander through the viewing area of the live Macy’s window holiday webcam while I was at work.
I thought there must be something wrong with the world, since I saw this pup when I jogged past Macy’s on the way to work in the morning, and she was still there when I went home. I thought, “Have I misjudged humanity so utterly? WHY WILL NO ONE ADOPT THIS PUPPY!” But all is right with the world: someone committed to adopting the pup around 10 AM, but had to come back tomorrow to actually pick her up. Well, that’s all right, then. I only wish I knew when the lucky owner would be dropping by, so I could head there with my camera and catch some adoption photos.
If it is before 9 PM, you must immediately go here and, if you are very lucky and he has not yet been adopted and is in the picture, you will see something ridiculously cute.
Also, just go there on general principles: the Macy’s windows now have live webcams, and they are adorable!
So it seems that, according to one tracking site at least, the number one search that leads to my blog is a search for ‘dog with a blog’. Somehow I doubt this. (And, for what it’s worth, the three other trackers I checked all agree that that’s totally bogus, but none of them agree what the number one search terms actually are. So the take-away from this experience is… ‘the internet is weird’.)
I ran into these two (who I believe were down visiting from Washington) up in the Hyde Street Pier area. Cooper (the bigger of the two) was really, really interested in going swimming, which I guess was a little out of character for him. But both of them were really, really interested in saying hello to me, which is not out of character for them at all, but which is pretty unusual for the breed.
Just goes to show: you get ’em young and you socialize them well, and you can do a lot to make a happy, social pup.
