Dog of the Day: Jake the Drooly St. Bernard (and Friend)

Posted on September 30, 2011 by Adam Lang

As mentioned yesterday, here is Jake, the 6-year-old St. Bernard! His friend is Marley the Lab mix, who I will be featuring separately, since there are just too many good pictures of each of them to fit in one day.

Dog of the Day: Labrador Retriever Mix

Posted on September 25, 2011 by Adam Lang

Ran into this guy down at the Ferry Plaza. He’s got to be a mix: his fur was a gorgeous mahogany, which I’ve never seen on a Lab, and was also slightly variegated. Plus his ears were a lot more … Continue reading →

Dog of the Day: Another American Pit Bull/Australian Cattle Dog Mix?

Posted on September 13, 2011 by Adam Lang

This one would be red merle instead of blue, but otherwise he looks pretty similar to Diablito. And he’s definitely got that ACD ball-related OCD.

Dog of the Day: Buster the Corgi/Lab Mix?

Posted on September 8, 2011 by Adam Lang

Dunno. Up ears, long body, short legs, black coloration (with a splash of white). I’d say he was a black German shepherd mix, but the face looks more Lab-like to me. Anyway, cute! Edit: Buster’s dad checked in below, almost two … Continue reading →

Dog of the Day: Dixie the Three-Legged Australian Kelpie Mix

Posted on September 6, 2011 by Adam Lang

All right, so Dixie’s mom checked in in the comments section, and it turns out I got just about everything wrong here. First off, Dixie’s a she. (Which is funny because I could have sworn one of my pictures had… … Continue reading →

Dog of the Day: Abiba the Chihuahua/German Shepherd (!!) Mix

Posted on September 4, 2011 by Adam Lang

Okay, I’ve seen some impressive mixes in my time, but… Chihuahua/German shepherd? And the mom was the Chihuahua? Oy, just thinking about that makes parts of my body that I don’t even have hurt. That said, Abiba (7 months old, … Continue reading →

Dog of the Day: Popeye the Chihuahua/Pomeranian/Dachshund

Posted on September 3, 2011 by Adam Lang

What an unusual little guy. How likely is it that random breedings of three breeds, two of which don’t generally get blue merles, would end up with a blue merle as the result? To add to this confusion, the little … Continue reading →

Double Dog Day: Diablito the Pit Bull/Blue Heeler and Missy Pooh the Pit Bull

Posted on August 31, 2011 by Adam Lang

A larger than usual post today, to make up for the lateness, and also because I have one that I’ve been meaning to get to for a few days now. I think I’m going to leave this one up for … Continue reading →

Dog of the Day: Axl the Bulldog/Beagle Mix?

Posted on August 28, 2011 by Adam Lang

Found this guy standing around outside of our favorite cheese shop. And I have to say, if golden retrievers are the ‘happy stoners’ of the dog world, this guy could definitely give them a run for their money. Well, maybe … Continue reading →
