I didn’t catch this pup’s name, but she was having a grand old time running around in circles near the Jewish History Museum. Fortunately she was willing to stop for a little while to give me a smooch.
It's the foofly wienermobile! Somebody had a slipped disc which caused other problems, poor pup.
Fortunately she doesn't seem to let it slow her down.

I was wandering around on Monday (Memorial Day), when I ran into this guy, all spruced up! Despite the fact that I hadn’t seen him for quite a while, I immediately recognized him as a repeat customer: Diggity, the American bulldog/bullmastiff mix. Better yet, it turns out it was his 11th birthday (that plus Memorial Day explain the bow tie) and he was enjoying every minute of it.

Yep... it's Bumblebee!
And just yesterday, when I posted her, I was complaining about how dark it was and how none of my pictures came out. Awesome!
Mom's boyfriend had him for the day. Man, lucky dog: TWO parents with dog-friendly workplaces.
Bumblebee was happy to stop and play for as long as I wanted to give him attention. Such a sweetie.
I ran into Bumblebee the cockapoo (and what an unfortunate breed name that is) when I was having lunch at Google with my friend Tommaso, who is newly employed there. And of course, I had to stop and take pictures of this adorably cute 10-week-old ball of fluff. Sorry Tommaso!
Unfortunately, because we were inside in a dimly lit room, only two of the pictures came out, and one of them is a slightly embarrassing-looking one of the woman who was holding him, so we’re just going to go with the one picture. I mistook him for a SUPER-young golden-doodle. So adorable!
I just ran into Austin a week or so ago, and it turns out that he is a Dogster puppy! (Six months old.) And by that I mean, his dad apparently works at Dogster, which I didn’t know was a thing, but apparently it is. And a fairly cute thing it is, too.

Austin has apparently been in the cone for ages. He got injured, and just as he was recovering, he got neutered.

A few days after I took these, I ran into Austin again, sans collar. He seemed equally happy either way.

Screwed up my back yesterday. Not good. Up until now this has only happened once a year, and the last time was in February. Guess I better start actually doing those back exercises, huh?

Goofy pup. She seemed totally relaxed and happy: waggy tail, held high, panting, ears wandering back and forth animatedly, and straining at the leash so she could come over and say hi to me...
...but she just wouldn't stop barking! Barkity bark bark! And she was loud, too. (To be fair, she WAS on the 'em-bark-adero' at the time.)
Well, I didn't mind. How could you get annoyed at that face?

There’s clearly something wrong here: Kukur is Nepalese for ‘dog’, but this guy looks like a lion! But I asked his mom, and it turns out she calls him a 4-year-old ‘whatchamaterrier’, which I more or less endorse. (Seriously… I don’t have a clue.)

Well, I finally went and did it: I ordered a few of the tee shirts I designed. I’m pretty proud of how they came out. And so I’m going to give away a couple of them to a couple of you. And, since Autumn has just ordered a whole bunch of nifty dog-bandanas for her business, I’m going to filch a couple of those to use as prizes as well.
So, let’s have a little photo contest. For the next few weeks, I want people to send me pictures. There will be two categories: creative, cute, or otherwise noteworthy pictures of dogs, for the first. Pictures that are evocative of San Francisco (though they need not be from San Francisco) for the second. First prize from each category will be a tee shirt (I have large and extra-large… if you need a different size, let me know and I will see what I can do). Second prize will be a Pup Scouts logo dog bandana. Or, if you win first prize and would prefer the bandana, which I admit is totally adorable, I won’t be offended, just let me know. (I will be mentioning the contest in every post until the submission period is over, but I’ll try not to let it get too terribly tiresome.)
How to enter: either upload your picture(s) to one of the photo sharing sites (such as imgur, flickr, or any other one) and leave a link in the comments of my blog, or email me the photo at the address ‘alang’ (at sign) ‘dogsofsf’ (period) ‘com’. (Sorry about the obfuscation, but I deal with enough spam in my day job.)
Details: Only two pictures per person, please, although the pictures can be in either category, or in both (e.g. a picture of a dog posing in front of the Golden Gate). Please submit pictures of no less than 1024×768 pixels, and the larger the better. Pictures must be submitted by Monday, June 11th. Autumn and I, possibly assisted by other parties, will narrow the pictures down to a small group (3? 5?) for each category, and then visitors will be able to vote on them. (Submission of a picture allows DoSF a limited, non-exclusive license to display your image on the blog.)
