A friend of ours emailed us a picture of her cat, “The Blob”. (If I say that that name makes me think of ‘El Blobbo’, Steve Dallas’s name for Opus in the ‘Bloom County’ comic strip, does that date me?)
The eyes match the sheets rather nicely, don’t they?
Found this good sport tied up outside a store down near work.
I feel underdressed. All he needs is a tie and a top hat.

I think this guy’s favorite candidate did not win yesterday. Cheer up, Mr. Beagle, you are still adorable and have a loving family who took you on a trip to the Big Sur.

So pretty. And so nervous. Poor Tally, the world is full of people who just want to pet you!
She kept her tail tucked so far between her legs that Autumn thought she didn’t have one. Poor pup.
I guess she was treated pretty badly when she was younger. Lucky for her, now she has someone to keep her safe.
These two were definitely very different personalities. Bodie (5) seemed very laid back, whereas Andy (2) was a bit, shall we say, focused.
The expressions on these two in this picture really tell you most of what you need to know about them.

The head tilt is due to me squeaking a squeaky toy to get his attention. Also, I think this guy might be a recessive-red border collie. Sure is pretty!
A few Monterey sea doggies for your delectation.
I’m pretty sure this is a female sea lion. She looks quite pretty, doesn’t she?
The males just look a bit… less dainty.
Oops, now I’ve offended him. Sorry, Mr. Sea Lion.
This guy has the right idea. If I were a sea lion, I’d be a Pacific Explorer.
Ran into Blaze in Santa Cruz. He’s 7, and just a giant goofy cuddly hyper puppy. Flat-coats apparently lean in that direction, maybe even more than goldens.
Spotty dog tongues sometimes look a little gross. They smooch just like the regular kind though.
Blaze is ideally suited for the gamboling on the beaches of Santa Cruz. And since he lives right near one, I bet he does a lot of that.
Don’t get me wrong, I was happy to get some pictures of Yogi. But I would rather have snuck off with him, spent eight hours romping through all the dog parks in San Francisco, and then returned him (snoring gently) to his parents.
That may be the happiest, stoned-est dog I have ever seen in my life.
Well-trained pup. He knew ‘sit’ and actually stayed sat, even if he did lean far forward trying hard to give me a lick.
That’s not a sad face… that’s pure concentration.
We’ve seen a Llewellyn setter once before here, but it’s been ages (and she looked a lot different!), so I didn’t even recognize this one when I saw him. They’re kind of like the compact version of a bigger setter.
Ranger was a little leery. I think he was a relatively recent rescue.
I am such a sucker for dogs with orange eyebrows.
Looks quite a bit different than our last Llewellyn setter.
