Dog of the Day: Border Collie mix… maybe?

I have to admit, the only thing I thought of when I saw him was ‘he looks like a coyote mix!’

Double Dog Day: Akita and Maltese Mix

Just a guess at the Maltese mix. I was wandering around taking pictures when what did I see but an akita, headed my way. I think I may have seen this guy before.

Bear (and his dad) came right over, and I pointed my camera that way, since it was obvious he was going to be a great subject.

But then this little gal came over. Sorry, but I never got a clear shot of her face. And Bear had no idea how to react.

Bear was totally flummoxed. It was hilarious... this other dog just came up out of nowhere...

And then the Maltese mix (or whatever he is) proceeded to hug the heck out of Bear. For literally a couple of minutes.

Dog of the Day: Harvey the Golden Retriever

Another dog from that same dog park. These pictures are a giant pain in the tukhus, as my grandma used to say. They were shot with a Canon SLR in Canon’s ‘raw’ mode, which means that I have to spend a surprising amount of time screwing around with them. If you shoot in jpeg mode, the camera does all the correction for you… it doesn’t always get it right, but there’s not much you can do about it if it doesn’t. Whereas if I do a bunch of work on the raw images, I can almost always make them come out at least acceptably, but it’s always a lot of work.

So here’s one of a handsome, graceful golden retriever, dancing for you. Tomorrow I’ll have a few more of this pup in other poses.

Dog of the Day: Jake the German Shepherd/Greyhound

We caught Jake in a goofy-happy mood. I am told that he occasionally decides to look noble and long-suffering, but it usually doesn’t last long.

Dog of the Day: A Challenger Appears!

Another friend for the Great Dane, whose name (I totally forgot to even look for it!) is Soolie, aka Sulimon. The playmate is a white German shepherd/greyhound mix named Jake.

Tomorrow, Jake gets his own day.
