This guy looks a bit like another sheep dog from a while back, but they’re not the same pup.
Moved two more pictures below the break. (Also: oh god my stomach hurts make it stop.)

Can’t neglect the old standards. This fine fellow was waiting patiently outside a Polk Street business while mom/dad shopped inside.

How have we never had a Yorkie on here before?
Moved a second, yorkier picture below the break.
A new breed for DoSF: the Patterdale terrier. Not just new to the blog, either. Autumn had never seen a Patterdale before, and I had never even heard of one.
Dumped two more pictures below the bark.
An akita/Australian shepherd: a combo I never would have thought of. However, they are two of the prettiest breeds I’ve ever seen. And this pup’s dad was pretty sure that was what he was.
Funny thing, though… both of those breeds are generally pretty fluffy. This guy had fur shorter than any Aussie or akita I’ve seen.

This breed gets my vote for whackiest name: it conjures images of toll gates in the sky.
The usual excuses apply: it wasn’t fully light outside, the light was at a bad angle, my camera sucks, I am a terrible photographer, and so on. Some of the pictures at least turned out well enough that you could identify these two in a lineup, I think.
Their mom is a big dog-fan, who was talking about wanting to do a San Francisco dog book. The more, the merrier!
I ran into these two on my way to work. The first one is the mother of the second one. Their doguardian says she is pretty sure the mom is a wolf/malamute cross, and that she escaped one day and may have found a coyote, which resulted in the second one. Wish I’d gotten more pictures: the second one definitely looks coyote-ish from the side. And both of them are really friendly and happy.
Alas, I didn’t get their names.
Lulu is a whole lot of dog! She kind of reminds me of a muppet.
Second picture moved below the fold.
I’m so lousy with identifying the small scruffy terriers. I really don’t know what this guy-or-gal is.

I don’t know, I just don’t know. I’ve seen quite a few Samoyeds in my time, and I’ve never seen one quite like Malia. Her coloration is a little darker than any I’ve seen before. (I’m not sure if it conforms to AKC or not… apparently they can be ‘biscuit’ colored, but it doesn’t appear that anyone is willing to define biscuit coloration.) I thought her proportions were a little off too, but the more I look at the pictures, and at pictures online of Samoyeds, the more I realize that I’m on crack. Oh, and that I’m wrong about the proportions, too.
That said, she’s ADORABLE! And fluffy and cute and cuddly and happy and just about everything you could want a dog to be. Except ours. Le sigh.
Oh, by the way, I’ve included my first ‘dog rap’ in the hovertext for the photos. Please take any criticism out and bury it in the yard. And I’ve now stuck five of the six pictures below the break.
